...for the first of 2 night shifts after the 4 shifts from Hell I had at the weekend/begining of the week.
It hasn't got any better.
Had to go up to ICU as the opposite number didnt want to change again, so I'll have to change tomorrow as todays day person will be tomorrows night person, well, makes sense to us cos we're used to being buggered around.
Didn't have a reply from the boss about the complaining eMail I'd sent her about the staffing levels.
The sad thing is, they and the higher-up heid bummers think that just anybody can come in here and function competently - as if.
Its our fault really, when we get people we're not sure about, we tend to give them the easy babies to look after, the ones who are nearly ready for home, feeders & grower's who are no trouble at all, not the ones on level 3 drugs, unstable airways, desaturate for the least wee thing, certainly dont let them anywhere near NICU, CPAP or any other types of ventilation.
So when these buggers go off back to their own wards, they think we have an easy time of it - 'cos they cant see you struggling with 4/5 in high dependancy plus 1/2 in isolation.
Isolation, another thing that makes me laugh, some folk think if the wear a plastic pinny, they're fucking sterile and either will not catch any bugs or transfer their own bugs to the patient - then walk around the fucking ward wearing them as if it conveys some sort of immunity!
And if you chin them about it YOU are all the evil cunts under the sun.
Do I care what someone thinks of me if I have to chin them?
If they do something detrimental to a baby through stupidity or not paying adequate attention -
HELL FUCKIN' MEND THEM, THEY DESERVE EVERYTHING THEY GET.
Cunts.
That is all.
