Finally got a new laptop...

...about three weeks ago, havn't been near the house, apart from quick runs in to pick up the mail.
I'll leave the reasons for that for another time.
Its a Toshiba, from PC World - never buying a computer again from Aldi thats for sure.
It even had windowsXP already plumbed into it.
What have I done with it since I got it 3 weeks ago - played fuckin' Free Cell thats all.

Get it set up for the net yet.

My friends Dad died a couple of weeks ago. Right out the blue.
Suppose its the best way for him - he wouldnt have been aware of it really, but helluva difficult for those left behind, trying to come to terms with it.
Dont think my pal really beleives it yet, when you go through the first few days after a sudden berevement like that, everythings a kind of blur and you've got the arrangements to make, appointments for insurance etc. to keep you occupied and something to concentrate on so that you are deliberately not thinking about the reason behind why youre actually doing it in the first place.
First thing his mum asked me was how did my maw cope after my Da passed suddenly.
Thats when I found out that she didnt really - turns out she used to get the bus into Glasgow, sit in the bus station for the next bus, bearing in mind it takes an hour to get to hers from the town, go for a cup of tea then dive out for the next bus into either Stirling or Falkirk, basically just played on the buses. As she said - "Why do you think I didnt argue with you when you suggested going to Cardonald to see what stray dugs were in?"

She met her match with the dug she picked out.
